If you're looking to improve your gut health, I encourage you to think about healthy eating, strength and movement, and sleep. My expert health content in the NowNext app is a practical, free way to learn.

We all know we should eat better. But between busy workdays, personal commitments and endless nutrition advice online, healthy eating can feel more complicated than it needs to be. The good news? It doesn't have to be.
One of the articles I wrote for the Australian Government-funded NowNext app explores why healthy eating matters: preventing disease in the future, and helping you feel good today. Eating well can improve your energy, mood and focus, while also reducing your risk of conditions like heart disease, type 2 diabetes and cancer.
The basics of healthy eating
My advice doesn't focus on restrictive diets or cutting out your favourite foods. It takes us back to basics with healthy eating. Eating a variety of foods from the five food groups, building a balanced plate, making simple swaps and choosing changes that fit into your life. Small improvements add up quickly, and have a bigger impact over time.
I know from working with my clients in the clinic, and in my wider public health work, that providing health information is only part of the picture. Lasting change comes from putting healthy habits into practice consistently, even on busy days. That's why I enjoyed working with the NowNext team to turn evidence-based health advice into small, achievable daily actions that become part of everyday life.
If you're looking to improve your gut health, I encourage you to think about healthy eating, strength and movement, and sleep. I've written health content across all those areas for the app, which you can read alongside articles by a clinical pyschologist about social connection (a big contributor to mental health, which is as important to your gut as the food you digest). The NowNext app is a practical, free way to begin.
If we're working together in the pip nutrition clinic, the app is a great way to make daily progress towards your digestive health goals alongside my personalised support.
